your love was embodied in Jesus Christ,
who washed the disciples’ feet on the night of his betrayal:
wash us from the stain of sin,
so that, in hours of danger, we may not fail,
but follow your Son through every trial,
and praise him always as Lord and Christ,
to whom be glory, now and for ever. Amen.
Michael Spencer has an uncanny way of looking at the life of faith. An unusual way, even, among evangelicals.
And it’s why I like it whenever he drags up something from his voluminous archive of blog entries.
Especially one of his recent posts about why we should never settle for being ‘good Christians’. Definitely appropriate for this Maundy Thursday.
Amen, brother. Amen.
